Android/Blackberry; There are apps that read your email or SMS while you’re driving (and DIY solutions), and apps that can send messages with your voice. DriveSafe.ly combines and automates the two for total voice-controlled messaging, and Lifehacker readers can try it out.
The DriveSafe.ly message is certainly spreading and as our latest version hits mobile devices everywhere the New York Post took notice. After the test run here’s what Tech Corner writer Hilary Lewis had to say about our app:
“Thanks to DriveSafe.ly, you can get all of your text messages and e-mails while you’re on the road without ever touching your smart phone and running afoul of the law. “
The wait is finally over. You can now respond by voice to incoming txt messages with DriveSafe.ly 2.0 Pro for BlackBerry and Android devices. DriveSafe.ly 2.0 will read all of your incoming messages aloud in real time and the Pro version will allow you to respond by voice. You can Get DriveSafe.ly Pro Here. After hearing an incoming message, you can say “Respond” then dictate a message, and even review the message before sending – All completely hands-free. There are other voice commands like “Call-Back”, which calls back the sender, “Repeat Message”, which re-reads the last message, “Cancel”, etc.
TechCrunch wrote a great article about DriveSafe.ly. Make sure you read the article carefully. There is a special Pro code in there that will work through the month of October, 2010. Also make sure you have the latest version of DriveSafe.ly because the code will not work in older versions.
During CNN’s weekly segment, Tech Time a very familiar app made an appearance. Presented by Marc Salzman DriveSafe.ly was previewed and reviewed on air. Check out the video for yourselves:
With the latest version of our hit app finally available to the public the reviews have started to come in. Dozens of users have already voiced their opinion, including The Berry Fix.
Their overall impressions?
“DriveSafe.ly is an excellent app that does just what it advertises. DriveSafe reads your messages and lets you respond with great accuracy. It even picked up well on my Southern accent, which is often a problem for voice recognition software. I love DriveSafe.ly and will continue using it anytime I am behind the wheel. DriveSafe.ly is the best application to avoid texting while driving that is available for BlackBerry. We at TheBerryFix.com encourage all our readers to use safe driving practices and turning off your phone or using an app like DriveSafe.ly are the best ways to go while driving.” – Berry Fix (Full Review)

iSpeech®, creator of the DriveSafe.ly™, and Caller ID Reader™ mobile apps announces the launch of DriveSafe.ly™ 2.0, reading text (SMS) and email messages aloud and allowing voice response, hands free. iSpeech’s award-winning anti-distracted driving app, DriveSafe.ly™, first launched one year ago. Since then, the first of its kind application has been used by over 6 million people and has read over one-quarter-billion messages to users. With DriveSafe.ly™ 2.0, iSpeech® hopes to reduce the danger created by texting while driving by allowing people to send and receive txt messages (SMS) and emails entirely by voice.
