Thanks for letting me beta test. I like the part having email read to me, but is there going to be an option to have
a reply not sent? Also I have a few different email accounts on my bb and I don’t need to
read/hear them right away. Are there plans to have DriveSafe.ly work with only emails
accounts that I choose and not all of them?

I would like the program better if I could decide if I wanted a text send in response to an email or text message.
Any user with a serial can disable auto replies on TXT or Email. As to only reading certain accounts, yes we are planning to allow users to choose which accounts to read aloud.
How do we get the serial?
I didn’t see anything about a serial in the invite that I received.
Good to hear that there will be an option to read only certain accounts.
We are going to generate some serials and give them out to people who are testing…
We are also going to let everyone who is helping us beta test disable autoresponder without a serial.

For the time being, you can get the program to read out more words by changing the “words” setting at the top right of the settings screen. I think it is 25 words by default. You can set it up to 500 words!
No problem glad to help! I did change the “words” setting up to 500.
At first it didn’t do more then a few words, but after a few emails
it worked. OK here is another question how do you stop it from
playing while it’s playing? I got an email and it started playing
the email and I went to stop it and it wouldn’t stop.
Very nice software guys. Eddie, I got it to stop by pressing camera or voice command button, but I couldn’t get it to stop with the red button.
Is this for the Storm exclusively? I downloaded to the Bold and nothing happens upon receiving a new message. Do you have plans to offer a help guide or faq section? Sounds promising, but unable to use.

No, we intend to support as many blackberry devices as possible. Make sure you have the newest firmware for your device. We will put up a FAQs/Help area very soon! (As in within 24hours!)
Kevin, it reads messages when they come in. Get someone to text or email you while the program is on.
I am with Kevin. I am on an 8900 and it will not read any mail or SMS messages
Currently tested on Blacberry Bold ATT v4.6.0.167 installed app its a little confusing with the enable or disable option tried both but currently I get no response or Audio when new emails are received. I have tried changing the interaction permisions to allow but still no audio.
new update I was able to get SMS to work on my blackbery Bold. still trying email will let you know if I am able to get that to work.
d/l to my storm this morning… seems to work well with text messages but not much else. Does not read emails back. Would like to see the functionality added to read back BBM’s.
i am able to have my sms read, but it auto replys to some of them “characters ex. triangles circles squares” on its own. liking the app but confusing on auto reply and wont read my emails only sms. using att bold 9000 4.6.0.167
I have the 8830we and it doesn’t read my mail. Am I doing something wrong?

great program! is there anyway to have the application read the sms or email out by way of the speakerphone? by it only playing through the earphone, it seems counterproductive.

We know there are still some issues with the Bold, but we are working hard to get them ironed out. We had problems with emails that were being forwarded, and we are close to getting PIN / BB messenger to work. I’m not sure if we will be able to get it in the next build though… We are going to push a new build tomorrow that will hopefully cure the issues that we are working on. Larry- please try the new build tomorrow, when someone sends you an SMS after a fresh install, can you make sure it only sends one auto-reply and not doubles?

Dennis- Does it work for SMS? You prob aren’t doing anything wrong, there are still some bugs to work out… We’ll have it 100% in no time!
Fidelis- Did you try having someone send you both SMS and Email? Is volume on 100% and all boxes checked? Does it send auto-response?
Chris- That is strange that it is only playing on earphone… I plug my radio transmitter into the headphone jack and keep the radio on 88.1. Then I can hear everything LOUD! What model BB are you testing it with?
Everyone… Please keep the feedback coming. It is helping us in a big way. When we have something more stable, we are going to give out some serial numbers so we can test our premium voices and the ad-less version.

Great app guys
it would be nice if you could sync your contacts meaning have it reconize hows texting so that you can concertruate on the msg and not try to figure out who’s number its from.
I have a 9530 storm on verizon running os 4.7.0.148 and the program is running about 40% on my phone. It reads emails but not sms texts. When it reads the emails the voice the cadence is too fast to understand. Slow it down a little and enable sms support on the storm 9530

We are going to try slowing down the voices. The “Free” voice is much harder to understand than the premium voice. Which service provider do you have? What country are you in? Thanks!

If the contact is in your phone it should read the contact’s name instead of the number. Try it with a few contacts. If they don’t read. Delete the contact and try inputing the contact again from scratch. There seems to be a weird bug with blackberry contacts.

testing with a 8330 curve on verizon with OS 4.5.0.77 and had the email read to me no prob, well, had the subject and sender read to me, no problem, SMS however will not read back to me. im about to upgrade to OS 4.5.0.138 and see if that makes a difference. Id love to continue to be a beta tester for your app, ive included all my contact info for you. thanks.
Has worked once for e mail after a restart. autoresponder works sometimes. I am on a 8900 with BIS selected. Any more info required e mail me

All appears to be working well with e mail & text on an 8900. BB started up this morning and my mails are read within 10 seconds of arrival, voice offering serials is much clearer. Any chance of a test serial
Not a bad application, I feel it needs the ability to mute or stop reading aloud if you choose to once it begins reading by use of the mute button. I have had to shut off my Bold to have it stop reading an email because it reads the characters as well and all the unimportant information in an email!

great app. Would love the option of a serial number so i can really give it a work out, Great idea though and can really spread the word.
I like the tool, but when I read about it i was expecting something slightly different.
Instead of having it read every message that comes in…
Could you instead provide a menu option for each Message in order to “read outloud”. I get way too many long, spam messages to have an app that reads everything incoming. I would much prefer to choose a message from my inbox and select “read it” from the bb menu.

I love this ap! I downloaded the free version from the BB store web site. After one day I was sold on it, so I purchased the upgrade. That said, I would like to suggest an enhancement to the product.
I get a lot of e-mails and I am not certain that I want to hear them all. What would be really neat is the option to either play only certain e-mails and another (probably mutually exclusive) option to play everything except certain e-mails. For example, I might want to only hear work related e-mails (everything from @myemployer.com) and those from my wife (mywife@hotmail.com). The other option would play all e-mails except those that are defined in a list of emails. That way I would not hear e-mails that I am not particularly interrested in or don’t want to hear, such as promotional e-mails (say anything from @amazon.com) or from my ex wife (myexwife@yahoo.com).
I know you have just released the product & wish you luck with it. Please let me know if there are any enahancements

Love this thing! Wish it would read my yahoo or blackberry messenger messages… Hey Dennis (from above post) you should consider putting restrictions on the types of emails that get delivered to your blackberry… I put rules on mine and love it!

Ive never used the app but it sounds pretty interesting. Then with laws being passed concerning txtn & driving, my question is when will it be available for other phones? I have a Samsung Eternity….
